There are a variety of routes into doing a PhD in the Vaghi Lab. If you are interested in joining the lab as a PhD student, please email Matilde (m.vaghi@bbk.ac.uk) attaching your CV, and we can discuss the best way forward.
 

Centrally funded programmes

The School of Psychological Sciences at Birkbeck hosts a number of centrally funded PhD programmes, including:
LiDO DTP

UCL Birkbeck MRC DTP

ESRC UBEL DTP

 

The usual route is to apply directly to these programmes. If you are interested in joining the lab under any of these programmes, please do get in touch. If you gain a place and are interested in a rotation placement in the lab (with a view to a potential PhD supervision), please do get in touch.

Funded positions

We do not currently have grant-funded PhD positions available in the lab.

Direct application

The School of Psychological Sciences at Birkbeck , funds a limited number of places via demonstratorships (TA positions). If this is of interest, please get in touch.

If you have access to other sources of PhD funding and are keen to join the lab, please reach out to Matilde to discuss further.

Masters projects

If you are a Masters student at Birkbeck or elsewhere and you are interested in pursuing a research project in the lab, please get in touch (ideally, in the summer or early autumn before you start your Masters year).

The lab has access to state-of-the-art research facilities including research-dedicated MRI at the Birkbeck-UCL Centre for Neuroimaging (BUCNI) and it is affiliated to the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development (CBCD) at Birkbeck, University of London
